Welcome to the

Artificial Intelligence
in Molecular Medicine

Research Group

We are part of the EPFL School of Computer Science (IC), the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC) of the School of Life-Sciences (SV) and the EPFL AI Center in Lausanne, Switzerland. The group is led by Charlotte Bunne. Our research develops AI methods to model human biology across molecules, cells, tissues, and patients, with the goal of advancing precision medicine.

Core AI Development

We develop core AI methods for learning, reasoning, and generation, advancing multimodal, self-supervised, and generative models that generalize across complex data.

Foundation Models

We build foundation models for biomedicine that learn across molecules, cells, tissues, and patients to create transferable representations of human biology.

Virtual Patients

Our vision is the virtual patient: computational models that integrate patient information across scales, simulate disease progression and treatment response
